I recently spent 8 hours in this lounge on two different trips. I agree with most of what you said but had a few complaints:

1. The lounge was great but they play the same repetitive music non-stop. It was the same 30 second clip on permanent loop both times. I couldn’t take it anymore after a few hours of listening to it, I went over and spoke to a manager if she could change the music or turn it off. She said that she couldn’t and it was traditional Saudi music. I am sure there are 100s of Saudi songs that could have been played. I ended up leaving the lounge for a half hour to recover. Seriously, that is how bad it was.

2. The big draw for me was the showers in the lounge which I was excited to try after a 16 hour flight from LAX. I ended up not showering. The place smelled musty, there were no slippers and I didn’t feel comfortable standing barefoot in a public shower.

My husband and I are planning to fly Business from Washington, DC to Karachi and I would like to know the following:

(1) Am I allowed to use the Business Class lounge with my husband?

(2) Do I need to wear a black gown and cover my head to disembark from the plane to the lounge?

Hi Sam, big fan of your blogs and content. Me, wife and 3 kids are traveling from US to Pakistan with economy class. We have a layover of 16 hours in Jeddah airport. We will land at Terminal 1. I needed to ask you some clarifications;

1. Is Al fursan lounge located in Terminal 1 of Jeddah airport? Is it located before the immigration and do we need to have a saudi visa to enter the lounge? How much does it charge?

2. Is there anyother lounge in Terminal 1 besides the Al Fursan lounge?

3. I have heard about a airport hotel inside the airport having about 120 rooms, is it correct and whats the detail and whereabouts of that hotel? I had a chance to talk to the front desk lady of that hotel but she knew very little english so couldnt understand much.
