I enjoy your videos on aviation.
The number 3 airport on your list with longest runways is Upington South Africa. The airport is in a very sparsely populated area and serves mainly agriculture cargo. Apart from being used to export grapes to worldwide destinations, hence the need for accomodating large cargo aircraft, rumour has it that the main reason for the long runway is because it was partly sponsered by the USA because it was designated as an alternative landing runway for NASA in the southern hemisphere in the days of the space shuttle missions.

SS THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW MUCH GROUND EAS NERDED FOR TAKE OFF. They still use this runway.

for Shuttle Pilot Landing training. And yes, a Shuttle did land there when the other landing choices
were unavailable due to weather.
